ok so

i cant stop listening to this and wishing it was the girl from the terra cotta.

it was perfect.

his voice isnt bad at all,
this guy could actually sing, but
i wish it was that little girl,
in her tee shirt,off-white sweater, jeans, and canvas sneakers,
with her hair down and nothing in it,
and wearing no makeup.
the nervous girl who kept stopping and making faces,
like she was so not impressed by herself.
but when she got into it, her voice was so strong and powerful.
it was like she was unharmed, untouched, and happy.
she was so humble,
she just said oh thank you, very low and giggled into the mic after her songs.
she was embarrassed she kept messing up,
but no one in the place cared,
everyone loved it anyway.
she had a voice and a being
that not many people have anymore,
innocence.
that was intoxicating.

you may hear it and say its not so special at all,
but i think every time i hear this song ill think of her
and see her sitting on the wooden stool with her old guitar.

my favorite part of "I Will Follow You Into the Dark":

Love of mine some day you will die,
But I'll be close behind.
I'll follow you into the dark...

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary,
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down.
The time for sleep is now.
It's nothing to cry about
'cause we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms.

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs.

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark
